Investor updates

The update that keeps the relationship warm

Founders raise for a few months, then go quiet for a year. A monthly update is how you stay in your investors' inbox the whole time, and on PrimeVDR every open lands on the same timeline as their data room reads.

Closing is not the end

The investors who passed this round are your warmest list for the next one, if you stay in touch. Silence resets you to cold.

An update is a soft re-open

A line about a new design partner or a revenue milestone is a reason to look again. Often it pulls an investor back into your room.

One habit, compounding

Send the same short update every month. The list grows, the relationships deepen, and the next raise starts from people who already know you.

One timeline

The open and the read, on one record

A newsletter tool tells you an email was opened. PrimeVDR ties that open to the same investor whose room activity you already track, so an update that sends someone back into your Financials shows up as what it is: real intent, worth a call.

  • Update opens recorded per investor, by name
  • Opens sit on the same timeline as room reads
  • An update that drives a room reopen reads as high intent
  • The 0 to 100 engagement score reflects both

Questions

What is an investor update on PrimeVDR?

A short written update you send to the investors on your list: progress, metrics, asks. It goes out by email, and every open is recorded on the same per-investor timeline as that investor's data room reads, so a single update and a deep room session sit next to each other as one history.

Are updates free?

Text updates are free on every plan, including the free tier. They are the habit that keeps your list warm between raises, so we do not put them behind a paywall. A recurring scheduler and an embedded metrics block are on the roadmap for paid tiers.

Do investors need an account to read an update?

No. Updates arrive in their inbox by email. If an update links back into your data room, that room keeps its own protections (email verification, watermarks), but reading the update itself takes no login.

How is this different from Mailchimp or a plain email?

A newsletter tool tracks opens in isolation. PrimeVDR ties an update open to the same investor record as their room activity, so when an update pulls someone back into your Financials, you see it as one high-intent signal and know to follow up.

Who do updates go to?

The investors on your shared list. You build that list once (by CSV import or as you invite people to rooms), tag people as current or prospective, and your updates and your rooms both read from it.
