Forwarding Control
The ability to prevent a shared document link from being accessed by anyone other than the invited recipient.
Forwarding control is a data room security feature that prevents a shared document link from being forwarded and opened by an unintended third party. PrimeVDR implements forwarding control via OTP anti-forwarding: each share link is bound to the invited email address. When a recipient opens the link, they must enter a 6-digit one-time code sent to their email. Anyone who receives the forwarded URL but cannot access the original inbox is blocked. Every blocked access attempt is logged in the immutable audit trail.
Example
A founder shared a room with five investors. One forwarded the link to a competitor. The competitor clicked the link, was prompted for the OTP they could not receive, and was blocked. The founder saw the blocked attempt in their audit log.
